WAYNE – Of the four counties within the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District, half of the 14 positive cases are listed in one county.
According to a release from the health department, which serves Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties, two more COVID-19 positive cases were confirmed in Dixon county Tuesday. The county is up to seven total positive cases.
The patients are a male in his 50s and a female in her 60s. Public health investigations have been completed to identify close contacts of the persons who are ill in order to ensure quarantine and isolation measures are being taken and identify the sources of exposure.
As of Tuesday evening, there have been 224 COVID-19 tests reported for people living in the NNPHD Health District. The results of these tests include 14 positive cases (Cedar – 2, Dixon – 7, Thurston – 3 and Wayne county – 2), 190 negatives and 20 tests currently pending results.
As far as any cases, when NNPHD releases someone from isolation, they no longer follow them to see how they are doing. The first positive case was reported on April 11 for a male in his 70s from Wayne county.
