Thurston County Residents Test Positive For COVID-19

WAYNE – After 28 new cases of COVID-19 were reported over the weekend in the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District, the positive case total dropped to just two Monday.

According to a release from NNPHD, the new confirmed cases are a pair of Thurston county residents being two females both in their 50s.

As of Monday evening, there have been 847 COVID-19 tests reported for people living in the NNPHD Health District of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties. The results of these tests include 106 positive cases (Cedar – 7, Dixon – 29, Thurston – 56 and Wayne County – 14), 715 negatives and 26 tests currently pending results.

As far as any cases, when NNPHD releases someone from isolation the health department no longer follows them to see how they are doing as the report from the health department does not include number of hospitalizations or recoveries.
