Three Straight Days Of Community Blood Drives In The Area

WAYNE – Several northeast Nebraska communities will be hosting blood drives in late July.

According to a release from LifeServe Blood Center, officials are asking community members to give blood to help patients in local hospitals this summer.

Travel, outdoor fun, boating and other summer activities can all lead to an increase in traumas in local emergency rooms. Many of these patients will require blood transfusions as part of their treatment or recovery. To ensure blood is available for this increased need, make sure to give blood at an upcoming blood drive in your community.

Communities hosting blood drives include Allen on Monday, July 19; Pender on Tuesday, July 20; Wayne on Wednesday, July 21 and Fordyce on Saturday, July 31.

Schedule a blood donation appointment (required) online at lifeservebloodcenter.org or call 800-287-4903.
