Third District Youth Advisory Council Accepting Applications Until July 15

Washington, D.C. – A deadline is approaching for high school aged students to apply for the 2021-22 Third District Youth Advisory Council.

According to a release from Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE), high school sophomores, juniors and seniors are being encouraged to submit their application by July 15.

The Third District Youth Advisory Council is a forum for students to share opinions, thoughts and concerns with congressman Smith about local and federal issues throughout the school year. This group provides students the opportunity to discuss the concerns of young Nebraskans and give their input on issues facing our country.

Congressman Smith always enjoys meeting with the Youth Advisory Council for the opportunity to connect with young Nebraskans directly. Students of this generation are the leaders of tomorrow’s Nebraska as congressman Smith states that emphasizing the importance of community awareness and civic engagement is vital.

Members must be able to serve from August 2021 – May 2022.
