NORFOLK – Residents in northeast Nebraska will be able to attend a pair of TestNebraska COVID-19 testing sites this week after filling out information on website.
According to a release from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), testing continues to be phased in for the most highly populated areas.
Norfolk will hold their second day of testing on Tuesday, June 16 from 8 a.m. until noon at 301 North 31st Street while TestNebraska will visit O’Neill on Friday, June 19 from 8 a.m. until noon at Holt County Department of Roads (1806 108th Rd.).
Other testing locations during the week of June 15 include Omaha (Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.); Blair (Wednesday from 4 – 6 p.m.); Burwell (Monday, June 15 – Wednesday, June 17); Kearney (Saturday – Sunday); Falls City (Wednesday – Thursday); Columbus (Monday – Wednesday); York (Thursday – Friday); Lincoln (Monday – Tuesday) and Valentine (Saturday – Sunday). Most will be held from 8 a.m. until noon.
People aged 15 to 35 in Douglas and Sarpy counties can now schedule a test. This is in addition to the following priority categories already open for scheduling a test of first responders, health care providers, meatpacking workers, military employees, anyone working in a long-term care facility or nursing home, people 65 years old and over as well as anyone who has been around someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
In May, Nebraska residents completed a total of 248,225 COVID-19 assessments through TestNebraska. A total of 886 Nebraska residents tested positive for COVID-19 last month. Negative test results during May totaled 23,170 and inconclusive results were shared with 45 people that month. The average turnaround time for tests to return results was 49.9 hours.
