Suspect Arrested Following Drive By Shooting In Northeast Nebraska

PONCA – With the assistance of the Nebraska State Patrol, the Dixon County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest following a weekend drive by shooting.

According to a release, Andrew Chase (DOB 06/24/1987) was arrested on Saturday, September 3.

At approximately 4:33 p.m. on September 3, the Dixon County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a female regarding a pickup and trailer that had just drove past her home and had fired a single shot towards her and her child. The female stated that the truck belonged to an Andrew Chase of rural Allen.

Upon further investigation, a bullet -hole was discovered on the side of the residence. With the assistance of Nebraska State Patrol and the Dakota County Sheriff’s Department, Andrew Chase was taken into custody at his residence without incident.

As of Sunday, Chase was being held at the Dixon County Jail on the following charges of use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, a Class 1C felony; unlawful discharge of firearm, a Class 1D felony; terroristic threats, a Class 3A felony; criminal mischief, a Class 2 Misdemeanor and disturbing the piece, a Class 3 Misdemeanor.
