Summer Fun Night, Awana Club Resumes

CONCORD – Year 35 of Awana will return this fall with a ‘Summer Fun Night’ approaching this weekend.

According to a release, start-up information was posted on the Awana Clubs in Concord.

The Awana Clubs 2022-23 Summer Fun Night will be on Sunday, August 28 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Concord Village Park.

A picnic supper will be provided as well as a bounce house, kiddie train, sno-cones, kickball, motorcycle and gator rides around the park. Clubbers, families and area residents are welcome to attend and encouraged to bring lawn chairs Sunday evening.

Awana will officially begin on Wednesday, August 31, with a registration/get-acquainted night at the Concord Evangelical Free Church (617 Broadway). Registration will run from 6:45 – 8:00 p.m. for parents. Clubbers will participate in games (7:00 – 7:30 p.m.) and small group time (7:30 – 8:00 p.m.) followed by ice cream bars for all.

Beginning September 7, Awana Clubs will meet each Wednesday from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. The first club night will feature the theme, “Back to School is Cool and Back to Awana is Too”.

Awana is a nondenominational organization. The Clubs feature bible stories, scripture memorization, games, songs and treats. Participating children earn Bible and activity awards to be displayed on Awana vests or banners. The Concord Evangelical Free Church provides Clubs for ages 4 and 5 (Cubbies), Grades K-2 (Sparks), Grades 3-6 (Mission: Agents of Grace) and Junior High (Trek).
