Summer Activities Roll On At Ponca State Park

PONCA – Ponca State Park is hosting another weekend of fun events for people of all ages. It all starts Friday, August 10. From 9-11 a.m. there is an introduction to archery course at the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex. At 1 p.m. the Humpty Dumpty presentation will take place at the Resource and Education Center with the cost being $1/craft and a limit of 20 people. There is Smore fun to be had on Friday as Ponca State Park celebrates National Smores Day at 2:30 p.m. at the Resource and Education Center.

Events on Saturday include an introductory course to archery and shotguns from 9-11 a.m. At 10 a.m. take part in the Beginning Birding activity. At 11:30 a.m. enjoy the Critter Corner exhibit. From 2:30-3:30 p.m. there is a guided tour of the Missouri River. At 10 p.m.-1 a.m. enjoy the Perseid Meteor Shower with a star expert. Bring bug spray, blankets or mats, binoculars and your camera and meet at the Ponca State Park Water Tower.

Sunday concludes the weekends events with an introduction to .22 rifles at the Wiebe Shooting Complex. Participants must be at least 10 years old.
