Storm Assessment Update, Multi-County Bid Opening To Be Accepted Tuesday

WAYNE – Members of the Wayne County Board of Equalization and Board of Commissioners are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, July 3.

From the Courthouse meeting room, the Board of Equalization will open at 9 a.m. to receive and approve a Motor Vehicle Tax Exemption. Another listing of real property that was omitted from or needed to be corrected on the March 19 assessment roll will be received.

Board members will also look to approve the three-year assessment plan from County Assessor, Dawn Duffy along with hearing an update on 2018 valuation protests.

The Wayne County Board of Commissioners will follow with discussion about a County Attorney office location around 9:05 a.m.

Nic Kemnitz, Wayne County Emergency Manager, will provide a June 24-25 storm damage report at 9:15 a.m. as well as a Disaster Declaration approval for flood damage. The Commissioners will then approve an engagement agreement with Tom Hansen, CPA for accounting services for June flooding damage.

Highway Superintendent, Mark Casey will follow around 9:25 a.m. The Wayne County Board of Commissioners will look to approve the agreement with the Nebraska Department of Roads for Fracture Critical Bridge Inspections of six bridges by Mainelli Wagner & Associates. Casey will also provide updates on NextEra, contractors and subs; road/bridge projects and approve a resolution to have the Chairman sign the 2018 Fracture Critical Bridge Inspection Agreement.

The Commissioners will then consider and take action on Wes Sievers’ Livestock Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation application for a Construction and Operation Permit.

Drainage concerns will also be addressed at 9:30 a.m., along with a bid opening for Wayne County and two Thurston County projects at 9:45 a.m. and Steve Muir with Elkhorn Valley Insurance will provide an United HealthCare Insurance Renewal at 10 a.m.
