Steady Rise In Thurston County COVID-19 Positive Cases, Three More Reported Wednesday

WAYNE – A northeast Nebraska county has seen at least one person test positive for COVID-19 over the past week and yesterday was no different.

According to a release from the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department, Thurston county saw three new residents test positive. Two were females and another a male ranging in age of 40s, 50s and 60s.

In the past eight days, there have been 34 positive cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Thurston county.

As of Wednesday evening, there have been 883 COVID-19 tests reported for people living in the NNPHD Health District of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne Counties. The results of these tests include 115 positive cases (Cedar – 7, Dixon – 29, Thurston – 65 and Wayne county – 14), 730 negatives and 38 tests currently pending results.

As far as any cases, when NNPHD releases someone from isolation the health department no longer follows them to see how they are doing as the report from the health department does not include number of hospitalizations or recoveries.
