State Nebraska Bank & Trust Customer Appreciation Days Continue, Friday Morning Chamber Coffee Set For December 17

WAYNE – Customer Appreciation week continues at State Nebraska Bank & Trust as their annual year-end Chamber Coffee celebration will be held Friday morning.

Throughout this week, employees at SNB are offering homemade sweets and hot drinks during their Customer Appreciation Days from December 13 – 17 at both the Main Branch and Campus Brank in Wayne. The coffee and hot cider is being provided by The Table and cookies made by the SNB family.

CEO at State Nebraska Bank & Trust, Matt Ley said their employees recently hosted the Fifth annual SNB Soup Cookoff where a donation of funds and items will be utilized by the Wayne Food Pantry.

“Again, our employees’ kind of enjoy making these different soups and we all vote on them,” said Ley. “Then all of the funds that are made, and we do food as well, is all given to the food pantry. So, that’s been a fun event the last couple years as well.”

State Nebraska Bank & Trust has dealt with their challenges during the pandemic but for the most part, are back to normal.

“I think it’s been a good farm economy the last year and that’s good for our fellow citizens here,” Ley added. “The community seems to be moving along, so it’s been a good year and we’re excited to be to the end of it.”

The Campus Branch is now about 90% occupied with still a couple openings available. The gym has been busy with other events along with basketball and pickleball.

Friday morning Chamber Coffee will be held in the Main Branch with the High School choir singing before 10 a.m. as ChamberPercs on the Wayne, NE Facebook page will start at 10:15 a.m.

The final drawings for the Wayne Area Economic Development Holiday Stamp Card promotions will be made along with a drawing of a Christmas sleigh full of toys for kids for those who have signed up. ($200 package from local businesses in Wayne).

Ley also mentioned there’s a nice mix of employees and they really enjoy each other.

“Obviously my parents still work here, and my son is coming back over December,” Ley mentioned. “So, we’ll have three generations of Ley’s working here over Christmas. So, yeah that’s about what we have 30 people. We have people here for over 35 years and then we have people who just started this year.”

Founded in 1892, State Nebraska Bank & Trust is the only bank locally owned in Wayne, run by the same family for five generations.
