WAYNE – For those who plan on attending the Northeast Nebraska Day at the State Capitol in Lincoln a reminder that the bus plans on leaving on Monday, February 26.
The event is hosted by Blair, Columbus, Fremont, Norfolk, South Sioux City, Wayne and West Point. Departure from Norfolk to Lincoln will be scheduled for Noon as the group will be back in Norfolk around 10 p.m. Monday evening.
Cost for the event was $35 as registration was due by Friday, February 15.
Once the group arrives, the Warner Chamber schedule will open with the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry President and CEO, Barry Kennedy at 3 p.m. followed by Speaker Jim Sheer with a legislative update at 3:20 p.m.
Following a break other speakers starting at 4 p.m. include Dave Rippe (Nebraska Department of Economic Development Director ); District 3 Representative Jim Pillen (University of Nebraska Board of Regents) and Khalil Jaber (Nebraska Department of Transportation).
A social will be held at the Nebraska Club at 5:30 before loading the bus and departing Lincoln around 7:30 p.m.
The schedule and speakers are tentative and could change. The State Legislature Northeast Nebraska Day is sponsored by the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Norfolk, Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District adn Elkhorn Rural Public Power District.
