GRAND ISLAND – Performers RATT, Skid Row, and Quiet Riot will not play at the 2020 Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. These groups are a part of The Big Rock Summer Tour, which canceled all shows for the remainder of 2020.
Those that have already purchased The Big Rock Summer Tour tickets will receive a full refund and an email from Etix. Refunds will be disbursed within seven to 10 days. People can expect their refunds to be received with the same payment method they used for the tickets. More information can be found at www.etix.com.
All previously scheduled Country Music artists are still on schedule. This includes Jon Pardi on September 3, Dustin Lynch on September 4, and the dual show of Clay Walker and Clint Black on September 6. Tickets are now available at www.statefair.org.
The Nebraska State Fair Board is instituting financial policies and procedures for the 2020 fair. They are also hiring an accounting firm to ensure sound accounting practices.
Jamie Parr, interim executive director of the fair, said in a release that his team will continue to make various plans for the 2020 State Fair. He said different versions of the fair will affect guests, partners, participants, sponsors, and the community.
There are six scenarios being considered for the 2020 Nebraska State Fair. The release from the fair didn’t describe the scenarios. The board intends to make a decision regarding the fair by July 1. The board is working with Central District Health Department, Department of Agriculture, the City of Grand Island, Hall County, and the Nebraska Governor’s Office to make decisions. Another factor is that no one knows what the August Directed Health Measures will look like. The 2020 Nebraska State Fair is scheduled for August 28 – September 7.
