According to a release from Ponca State Park in late March, the 2019-20 contest saw guests from South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska compete for the top three places. The event began on November 30, 2019 and lasted until March 19, 2020 where attendees were invited to build a snowman or snow creature near the mini lodge or Resource & Education Center. Guests could have also emailed a photo of their creation at Ponca State Park.

Mary Schuetze and the Sewing “B”s from West Point followed in second with their Hawaiian Snowgirl and the Kuols family of Laurel finished third with their Mighty Mini Man.

Photos were displayed throughout the winter season in the lobby of the Resource and Education Center and on their social media page.
