HARTINGTON – A mid-morning accident was reported in rural Cedar County over the weekend.
According to a release from the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office around 10:49 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, a report was received of an all-terrain vehicle accident on a farmstead northwest of Hartington.
A four-wheel all-terrain vehicle had driven over an embankment and flipped on top of the operator.
A six-year-old male, who was the operator of the All-Terrain vehicle was transported to Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD where he was pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation.
Cedar County Sheriff’s Office, Hartington Fire Department, and Hartington Ambulance all responded to the incident.
