Several Presentations Will Make Up Board Of Education Meeting

WAYNE – Moving to the halfway point during the month of November, the regularly scheduled Wayne Community Board of Education meeting is being set for Monday evening.

From the Jr/Sr High School Library, four requested presentations will start tonight’s meeting at 5 p.m.

Lori Olson with Dana Cole will provide an audit presentation, the Community Facility Committee will also update the board, Steve Thiele from Hausmann Construction presenting and Northeast Nebraska Insurance’s Cap Peterson also plans on attending the meeting.

Under ‘Personnel’ also notes a resignation that will be addressed this evening.

A pair of second readings on policies will be heard under old business. They pertain to ‘Assignment of Students’ and ‘High School Credit for Junior High Courses’.

Under new business, the board will first look to approve a property and casualty quote, act on the 2021-22 WCS audit and financial statements before hearing first reading on policies of ‘Child Abuse and Neglect’, ‘Safe Pupil Transportation Plan’ and ‘Transportation’

A bus route pick up point will see a change in wording while a notification of demolition and renovation form will seek approval of the old District 83 school house located at 855 Road and 563 Ave.

Superintendent, Dr. Mark Lenihan will provide an update on option enrollment before other administrative reports are addressed.

This month’s November Honor Recognition Recipients will highlight the Wayne High girls golf district team champions, girls golf conference and district medalists, girls golf state medalist, National Honor Society members, girls cross country state championship team and cross country state individual medalists.
