Several Presentations, Discussion Items On Council Agenda

WAYNE – Following a short meeting earlier this month, councilmembers with the Wayne City Council will hold their second regularly scheduled meeting in February.

From the council chambers inside the City Hall, the meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18.

Council will hold a public hearing for the one-and six-year street improvement program as the plan is required to be submitted each February to be eligible for approximately $460,000 in NDOR Highway Allocation funds for Wayne.

Kyle Overturf of Almquist, Maltzahn, Galloway & Luth PC will present the fiscal year 2018-2019 audit while Heather Headley, library director will talk about Wayne Public Library events that took place this past year.

Wayne City councilmembers will then discuss the request of Robbie Gamble and Terri Buck to place stop signs at intersections of sixth and Windom, sixth and Nebraska as well as at every intersection on sixth street.

Other resolution items include approving the renewal of an Interlocal Agreement for Wayne county and Wayne county library association while also authorizing the city administrator to apply for the Nebraska Public Transportation Act Funds. These funds would be for the operation of the Wayne Public Transportation Systems. Another annual action required is the submission of the Wayne Senior Center’s fiscal year 2020 detailed plan of operation and budget to the Northeast Nebraska Area Agency on Aging.
