Several Appointments Scheduled, Board Of Commissioners To Discuss Reopening Date For Courthouse Offices

WAYNE – Board of Commissioners in Wayne county will hold their regularly scheduled meeting from the Public Safety Annex on Tuesday, May 19 at 9 a.m.

The meeting will be open to the public by video/telephone conference. Members of the public can go to waynecounty.org and select ‘Virtual Meetings’ under the ‘Commissioners’ dropdown.

Wayne Area Economic Development Executive Director, Luke Virgil will give the WAED 2019 Year in Review as well as annual contribution request. Board members will then discuss and set a potential public reopening date for courthouse offices.

Highway Superintendent, Mark Casey will also address road and bridge project updates as well as highlighting a water line being laid down on 575th Ave. Updates from wind energy projects will also be given.

Jared Reimers will give an update at 9:30 a.m. via Zoom as Reimers is the Community Liaison for Congressman Adrian Smith. Another appointment scheduled is for Providence Medical Center CEO, Jim Frank at 9:45 a.m. to discuss the bonding of their hospital expansion project.

Doug Elting with Berggren Architects will provide an update on the courthouse restoration project before commissioners discuss additional funding for the project.
