Several Action Items Seek Approval During Commissioners Meeting

WAYNE – The final regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioner meeting for 2019 will be held on Tuesday, December 17.

From the Wayne County Courthouse courtroom, the meeting will begin at 9 a.m. as commissioners will take action on a list of banks for county fund depositories for 2020.

Banks being designated will be Elkhorn Valley Bank & Trust, Hoskins & Wayne branches; F&M Bank, Wayne branch; Farmers State Bank, Carroll branch; Madison County Bank dba Wayne County Bank, Winside and State Nebraska Bank & Trust, Wayne.

Another set of action items includes the principal of payment for both Highway Allocation Fund Pledge Bonds, Series 2014 & 2015. Commissioners will also look to approve a resolution authorizing the county treasurer to invest and reinvest county funds as well as an audit contract for the years ending June 30 of 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The appointments will start with the Goldenrod Regional Housing Agency as Charla Nedza is looking for the board to appoint a county representative to the Northeast Nebraska Joint Housing Agency/Goldenrod Regional Housing Authority board. Wayne County emergency manager, Nic Kemnitz as well as highway superintendent, Mark Casey will then provide updates to the board.

Two agenda items which were tabled earlier this month are back on the agenda.

The first will be setting the commissioner’s salary for the calendar years 2021 and 2022. Then, the county will look to review the owner/architect agreement article with Berggren Architects for the courthouse renovation project. Action items will also include approving the Alpha Change Order and the Addendum to Original Contract.
