September 11 Blood Drive Information Scheduled Through LifeServe

WAKEFIELD/WYNOT – Plan on joining a pair of northeast Nebraska communities and “Go Wild Saving Lives”.

According to a release from the LifeServe Blood Center, the need for blood always goes up on the long Labor Day weekend and the group is asking donors new and old to help boost the blood supply.

Back to school, camping trips and annual Labor Day travel keeps regular blood donors away from their usual donation appointments this time of the year. Unfortunately, having more folks on the road leads to an increased need for blood. Since there’s no substitute for a lifesaving blood transfusion, it’s vital that blood donors keep giving the gift of blood regularly.

LifeServe is offering a special “Go Wild” shirt design for donors in the online store beginning Friday, August 30 while supplies last. Quantities are limited, so roll up a sleeve and give blood at an upcoming blood drive in your community before this design is retired.

A pair of Wednesday, September 11 blood drives will be held in Wakefield and Wynot. The Wakefield Community Blood Drive will last from 2 – 6 p.m. at the Christian Church of Wakefield (303 Johnson St.) while the Wynot Community Blood Drive will be held from 2 until 5 p.m. at Cedar Security Insurance (414 St. James Avenue).
