Senator Joni Albrecht Mentioned State Rodeo’s, Budget, Bills, & Health Standards In Latest Update

LINCOLN – The University of Nebraska Rodeo Association hosted the 2021 Nebraska Cornhusker College Rodeo on April 23 and 24. Another rodeo scheduled to take place this summer is the Nebraska High School Finals Rodeo in Hastings. That is from June 17 – 19. From July 18 – 24, the 2021 National High School Finals Rodeos will be in Lincoln. Finally, Nebraska’s 100th annual Big Rodeo will be in Burwell from July 28 – 31.

Nebraska’s Legislature approved a $9.7 billion biennium budget package. This entails numerous appropriations and transfers.

LB 2 is a bill that would impact landowners. This would reduce land value for the purpose of property taxes.

For enhancing the ethanol production in the state, LB 595 has been made the lead Revenue Committee Priority Bill. It would provide a sale and use tax exemption for certain products used in the process of manufacturing ethanol. There are a handful of other bills being carried under LB 595. The underlying bills detail a sale and use tax exemption for things like internet towers and agricultural machinery.
