Senator Albrecht Touched District 17 Roads, Internet Connection, Tax Credit Bills

LINCOLN – Senator Albrecht began her update by thanking Luke Virgil and Leadership Wayne for their visit to the Capitol. The group came to learn more about the Unicameral and tour the building.

Broadband internet connection in rural areas is an important issue for the people of District 17, according to the senator. Albrecht believes a solution to this problem will be discovered soon.

Governor Pete Ricketts is pushing a proposal that would put $40 million toward broadband internet for rural Nebraska.

There are several bills proposed that the Revenue Committee has heard about tax credit. Two of these bills were introduced by the senator. Albrecht suggested to visit the Nebraska Legislature website to check out these bills.

Current road conditions in District 17 have been analyzed. Plans for roadway projects have been discussed. Up to 20 percent of the highway costs can be federally funded, according to the senator’s update.

Senator Joni Albrecht encouraged her constituents to share their thoughts and questions with her by calling her office at 402-471-2716, or by email at jalbrecht@leg.ne.gov.
