Season 2022: Be A Part Of Our World, Little Red Hen Theatre Series

WAKEFIELD – Over the course of the year, the Little Red Hen Theatre will put on several productions, welcome in a recording artist for a special concert and host several theatre experiences.

According to a release, ‘Season 2022: Come Be A Part of Our World!’ will offer a full slate of diverse experiences and have something for everyone.

Season 2022 at the Little Red Hen Theatre will include performances of ‘For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday’ by American Playwright Sarah Ruhl, a production of the Disney’s Broadway Musical ‘The Little Mermaid’, a Christmas Variety show featuring seasonal vignettes and musical performances, as well as special musical presentations by Daniel Christian and Joseph Hall’s Rock “N” Remember Elvis Tribute.

Another item added in the month of February will be A Touch Of Brass presenting “The Many Shades of Brass” on Saturday, February 6 at 2 p.m. from the Little Red Hen Theatre. This event is being presented as a “fund and food” raiser for the Wakefield Food Pantry and is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring donated items for the pantry or gift a monetary donation.

Presented March 11 – 13, ‘For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday’ is a loving look at a family’s view of death, life, and the allure of never growing up. Five siblings are in their father’s hospital room during his final moments. His death sparks a conversational wake that includes everything from arguments over politics to when each sibling realized that they grew up.

Held over two weekends, July 15 – 17 and 22 – 24, Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ promises to be an enchanting experience for audiences of all ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World.”

“A Little Red Hen Christmas” will celebrate the season with music and laughter December 9 – 11. An evening of songs, stories, and good cheer, this one-of-a-kind show will feature a variety of local and regional performers.

Nashville recording artist Daniel Christian returns for a special LIVE performance on October 8 with a performance of his original music and storytelling. The King of Rock n’ Roll himself will be appearing April 22 and 23 with Joseph Hall’s “Rock-N-Remember Elvis tribute. As seen on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, Joseph promises a show you won’t forget.

The theatre will also be offering other experiences for the community, such as their DRAMA CAMP for kids, to held June 13 – 18, as well as an immersive theatre experience for older actors in September, “Let’s Create”, where participants will devise an original work of theatre.

Managing Director T. Adam Goos is excited for Season 2022, and all the ways in which the community can interact with each other at the Little Red Hen Theatre. “We’ve got some really exciting and ambitious things planned this year – and whether you come as an audience member, backstage volunteer, or someone performing on stage, I know you’re going to find yourself being immersed in a wonderful world of experiences with us at the Little Red Hen.”
