The Board of Education also shifted a 10 o’clock late start to a full day off (five hours of instruction time) for students on Wednesday, November 4. Staff will come in and catch up on some of their professional training as after-school activities will still take place.
Schools across the state are allowed up to 12 hours off per quarter from the Commissioner of Education. The board may do the same in December.
The first quarter ended Wednesday as there is a teacher in-service Thursday and the fall break on Friday, October 16.
The board will hold a special meeting next Thursday, October 22 at 4:30 p.m. to vote on the south parking lot bids as bids will be opened for consideration on Tuesday, October 20. A tour of the south parking lot closed out Monday’s meeting. The parking area is currently a gravel area and the school district would like to pave the lot. The goal is to do part of the lot this fall and finish up in the spring of 2021 depending on bids.
