Runza Feeds The Need Scheduled For April 13

WAYNE – Make plans to visit Runza on Tuesday, April 13 during the Fourth annual Runza Feeds the Need Fundraiser.

According to a release from Runza, the event has raised over $95,000 the past three years.

Make your lunch plans at any Runza location where 10% of all sales all day Tuesday will be donated to local programs focusing on youth hunger and food insecurity. All sales are included from drive-thru, dine-in or take-out.

Local programs working to alleviate childhood hunger will receive the proceeds from this fundraiser which include the Wayne Food Pantry and Backpack Program in Wayne.

One in six children in this area don’t know when they will have a next meal.

Jodi Pulfer will join News and Sports Director, Aaron Scheffler from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. during our live broadcast remote at the Wayne Runza (618 East 7th Street). Reports will air on both Big Red Country ‘KTCH’ 104.9 and The City ‘KCTY’ 98.9/1590 as well as waynedailynews.com.

An interview will also air during the ‘View from Wayne America’ on KTCH Tuesday morning in the 9 o’clock hour and on KCTY in the evening after 6 p.m. about the event following an interview with Wayne Community Schools Superintendent, Dr. Mark Lenihan discussing Monday night’s board of education meeting.
