WINSIDE – With the first weekend of July approaching, Roy Reed Unit 252, American Legion Auxiliary from Winside will be hosting their monthly meeting.
According to a release, the meeting will begin at 10:15 a.m. at the Winside Legion Hall on Saturday, July 2.
Installation of the Unit Officers will take place and membership pins will be provided on Saturday.
Roy Reed Unit 252, American Legion Auxiliary is looking for more volunteers to be in the Hoskins 4th of July parade. The group is searching for those available in the color guard or walking through the parade route handing out the Memorial Poppy to those who wish to have one.
The parade will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 4 as the Unit will meet in the area of Hoskins Manufacturing to line up. If you will be in the color guard with Legionnaires and SONs members, you are asked to have white tops and dark slacks or shorts.
Veterans Day at the Nebraska State Fair is Monday, September 5 with admission free for Veterans and members of veteran service organizations by showing your membership card.
Roy Reed Unit 252, American Legion Auxiliary from Winside will speak during the annual Legion Family picnic with the residents of the Norfolk Veterans Home on Sunday, September 11. The Auxiliary members generally provide desserts, salads and/or fresh veggies.
Just a handful of renewals remain from having collected the Auxiliary member dues for 2023. Make sure to bring your dues to this Saturday’s meeting and get your card in exchange. Senior dues are $25.00 and Juniors are $5.00 (infancy through age 17 years). The Unit is always looking for new members with new ideas and energy.
