Rodeo To Take Over Walthill This Weekend

WALTHILL – For three straight nights northeast Nebraskans will have an opportunity to attend a rodeo.

From Friday, July 13 – Sunday, July 15 visit the 44th annual Walthill Memorial Rodeo for evening activities.

A free BBQ will kick off Friday at 5 p.m. as the concession stand opens at 6 p.m. The first rodeo performance will take the stage at 7 p.m.

Categories for Friday’s youth barrel race will be broken into ages 4-9, 10-13 and 14-18. Cost is $5 as there are a limited number of spots open. Call 402-385-8966 if interested.

On Saturday, the alumni schedule will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a social gathering and tours of the school. Supper is scheduled for 5 p.m. with the concession again opening at 6 p.m.

The second rodeo performance will begin at 7 p.m. with the beer garden being open until 1 a.m.

Closing out the weekend on Sunday, a chicken dinner will begin at 11 a.m. from the new Fire Hall. A rodeo parade is slated for 4 p.m. as the concession stand will open at 5 p.m. where the kid’s mutton busing signups will take place.

The final rodeo performance will start at 6 p.m.
