WAYNE – The Wayne City Council will open their first regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, November 5 with a loan request at 5:30 p.m.
From the council chamber inside the City Hall, Retail Reclaimers, LLC has made an application for a business loan from the revolving loan fund. This fund was established using Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG).
Retail Reclaimers is requesting a loan in the amount of $145,000 to purchase furniture, fixtures, equipment and inventory to start a hardware/home store located at 615 Dearborn Street (former Shopko building). The total project costs are being estimated at $1.891 million where approximately 10 jobs that primary benefit low-to-moderate income persons will be created as a result of this project.
Anticipated funding will include $400,000 of bank financing; $145,000 Wayne CDBG funds; $200,000 Wayne LB840 Funds; $200,000 Northeast Economic Development, Inc. funds; $411,000 ACE Hardware loan; $200,000 MUCS loan and $334,000 business equity.
Several resolutions and ordinances will also be heard during the Wayne City Council meeting.
Resolutions include approving the marketing agreement with Utility Service Partner, Inc.; accepting a bid and awarding a contract on the “2019 Water Transmission Main Project”; approving scope of services and task order (no. 190287.02) with JEO Consulting Group, Inc. for the “Senior Center Addition Walk-In Cooler Project”; authorizing the sale of Spahr’s Addition to the city of Wayne, Wayne County, NE to the Wayne State Foundation for $1,500; amending schedule of fees and authorizing the signing of the Year-End Certification of City Street Superintendent Form – 2019.
Council will also look to accept a plan to extend city services and set a public hearing on the proposed annexation area (Southeast Quadrant) for November 19 at or about 5:30 p.m.
Ordinances to see attention will be the directing of sale of the South 25’ of lot 5 and the North 5’ of lot 4, block 1 of Spahr’s Addition and amending the Wayne Municipal Code Title XV Land Usage, Chapter 150 Building Regulations; Construction, Sec. 150.03 Moving Buildings.
