Republican Candidate Forum Sunday At 1:30 PM In Wakefield

WAKEFIELD – After holding a final zoom planning meeting on Wednesday, several candidates have confirmed their spot this weekend for a forum.

According to a release from GOP District 307, a Republican Candidate Forum will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 9. Make plans to visit the Civic Center located at 407 East 7th Street in Wakefield.

Northeast Nebraska counties of Cedar, Dakota, Dixon and Wayne will host the Republican candidate forum. The County GOP’s have invited gubernatorial candidates to each speak on their platforms with a short biography.

Nebraska Governor candidates who have committed are Theresa Thibodeau, Brett Lindstrom, Breland Ridenour and Charles Herbster as Jim Pillen hasn’t committed as of the Wednesday zoom meeting.

Mike Hilgers, Republican Candidate for Attorney General; Robert Evnen, current Nebraska Secretary of State, who is running for re-election; Sherry Jones, candidate for Nebraska State Board of Education, District 6 and Ron Schmidt, 3rd District Chair for the NEGOP will also be in attendance.

There will be an opportunity for those who attend to meet and greet the candidates for Governor and ask further questions. Also, additional materials and information will available.
