Public Hearings Scheduled For Wayne School Board Budget, Tax Request

WAYNE – After the Wayne Community Schools Board of Education reviews their financial claims at 4:30 p.m. today, the group will move into their budget and tax request just after 5 p.m. Monday.

From the conference room of the Wayne Jr/Sr High School, board members will welcome in community members during a public hearing on the proposed 2020-21 budget as well as special hearing to set the final tax request at 5:10 p.m.

Moving into the regular agenda around 5:20 p.m., there’ll be a special presentation from Wayne State College pertaining to the Early Childhood Placement Agreement between WSC and Wayne Community Schools.

Among new business will be approving the budget and final tax request along with agreement between WSC and WCS. A first reading will also be brought forward for the ‘Designated Method of Giving Notice of Meetings’.

Administrative reports will feature an enrollment summary broken down with senior high and junior high numbers.

September will also mark the return of recognizing students during their monthly Honor Coffee’s but due to COVID-19, Wayne Community Schools will not publicly host these events. Members of the 2019-20 Yearbook along with 2020-21 National Honor Society will be recognized.
