Public Hearing For CDBG Funds, City Ordinances Discussion On Parking Listed Among Council Agenda

WAYNE – Councilmembers and City of Wayne staff will hold their regularly scheduled meeting back at the Wayne Community Activity Center Community Room on Tuesday, September 15.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. where council will look to apply for a budget amendment of moving CDBG funds from the General Administration and Construction Management funds into street activity. Jan Merrill with the Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District will attend the meeting explaining the request and answer any questions council may have.

A public hearing will then be held to obtain public input on the Application for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

A pair of action items will then be on the agenda. They’ll address payment number seven in the amount of $170,851.91 to Robert Woehler & Sons Construction, Inc. for the “2019 Nebraska Street Improvements Project”. The other would be payment number four in the amount of $98,955 to M&B Quality Concrete for the “Restoration of Walking Trail Project”. Both will be for work completed and approved by the project engineer.

Councilmembers will then accept bids and award a contract on the “City of Wayne Lagoon Berm Concrete Removal Project”. Bids will be due on Tuesday. September 15 at 2 p.m.

Second reading of truck parking along with ordinances pertaining to restricted parking from midnight to 5 a.m. in the southeast quadrant and prohibited parking in the southwest quadrant of the City of Wayne will also be addressed.

Council will end the meeting by hearing updates on city projects.
