Prairie Breeze Employee Receives NALA Health Care Hero Award

PENDER – An assisted living community located on the northwest edge of Pender saw one of their own employees be recognized as the recipient of the 2019 Health Care Hero Award.

According to a release from Pender Community Hospital (PCH), Alecia Bender received the award during the Nebraska Assisted Living Association (NALA) Fall Convention Awards Luncheon in Lincoln on September 25. Over 500 assisted living and nursing facility owners, administrators, staff, vendors and guests attended the awards luncheon.

Bender is a certified medication aide with Prairie Breeze Assisted Living in Pender. She was nominated by Shari Dorsey, administrator at Prairie Breeze.

Prairie Breeze offers an affordable 16-bed assisted living community where they embrace the resident’s right of choice and the need to maintain independence. Each apartment is designed with a private bedroom, living room and kitchenette with a refrigerator as well as microwave. Their private bathrooms are also equipped with a walk-in shower.
