PONCA – Close out the month of January with a trip to Ponca State Park.
According to a release from Ponca State Park self-guided activities continue to be offered for those who visit the park on Saturday, January 30.
The winter adventure scavenger hunt will allow families the opportunity to find all the winter items on the list. Pick up the scavenger hunt at the Resource and Education Center or find it on the Ponca State Park NE Facebook page.
Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Nebraska’s state parks by participating in a self-guided hike among the Old Oak trail. Along the trail you’ll find educational stopping points to learn about various plants, history and restoration work. This trail is listed as easy to moderate and is a 1.2-mile loop.
The search for sasquatch continues as each week the Sasquatch explores a new area of the park. Share your photos with Ponca State Park officials or on Facebook by using the #SasquatchSelfieChallenge.
Also, take part in a snow creation building contest that lasts now until March 19, there are 10 gnomes that are hidden among the Tri-State Overlook trail and winter bird bingo.
Take and go activities are also offered by picking up a packet at the Resource and Education Center.
