Ponca State Park Activity Schedule For This Saturday

PONCA – Join Ponca State Park for another fun slate of activities on February, 9th. The day kicks off at 9:30 a.m. with the Meet the Critters program. This program will be held at the Resource and Education Center and is a free event. Learn from a Ponca State Park naturalist about the variety of educational animals kept there.

At 11 a.m. dig in to some snow ice cream. Learn from a naturalist how snow is formed in the clouds and afterwards make and enjoy a snow ice cream treat. Cost is $1 per treat and the event is at the Resource and Education Center.

From 1:30-3:30 p.m. join in on the ice fishing clinic. Fish stay active all winter long under the ice! All equipment and bait will be provided as participants will learn how to catch and clean rainbow trout. Anyone 16 years of age or older wishing to participate will need a fishing license. Meet at the pond near the Resource and Education Center for this free activity. (NOTE: if there is not enough ice for ice fishing, visitors are welcome to join a Ponca State Park naturalist for a hike at 2 p.m.)
