Ponca State Park 23rd Annual Hallowfest October 16 Schedule

PONCA – If you missed out on last weekend’s Hallowfest activities at a northeast Nebraska State Park, a day full of family-centered events will make a return this Saturday.

According to a release form Ponca state Park, the group is hosting their 23rd annual Hallowfest on Saturday, October 16.

Start off the day at 9:30 a.m. and available all day will be crafts for youth. Cost $1 and can be picked up inside the Resource and Education Center.

Following the art activity, free events include ‘Creepy Crawly Critter Corner’ at 10 a.m. behind the R&EC and ‘Fossil Hunt’ at 11 a.m. at the boat ramp. Conrad’s kitchen will be serving up hot meals from noon until 5 p.m. located on Scout Hill during the afternoon activities.

Afternoon events will last from 1 – 3 p.m. A pumpkin carving contest will be offered for $3 with prizes awarded in four age groups; also for $3 will be the pumpkin roll obstacle course (four ages category prizes); free games, maze, s’mores and other activities along with a free pet costume contest.

If you plan on staying the weekend, participate in the judged decorated campsites and cabins at Ponca State Park as prizes are awarded for this free event at 5 p.m. Saturday night.

Closing out the weekend will be the Haunted Drives with cost being $25 per car load from 7 – 9:30 p.m. (check-in at Resource and Education Center).
