PMC To Host Hazmat Night Out August 19

WAYNE – Community members in northeast Nebraska are being invited to the 2021 Hazmat Night Out event this week at Providence Medical Center.

According to a release from the Elkhorn Valley Local Emergency Planning Committee, PMC will be the host site of this week’s Hazmat Night Out on Thursday, August 19.

From 4 – 7 p.m. the evening will offer food, networking and demonstrations. A hazmat exercise will be held at 4 p.m. with food and a presentation to follow around 6 p.m.

Providence Medical Center is located at 1200 Providence Road and the event will take place near the ambulance bay.

The Local Emergency Planning Committee’s (LEPC) primary role is to support the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act of 1986 (EPCRA). This includes the development of the hazmat plan, education of the general public on chemical awareness and tracking of chemical inventory supplied by local industry.

Contact hours will be provided for fire departments and emergency service personnel as registration is required.
