WAYNE – Providence Medical Center is hosting Wayne Chamber Coffee Friday, May 18th, ahead of an open house celebrating the completion of their lengthy construction project on Sunday.
Since 2015, PMC has been working on improving the hospital area by area. At Friday’s Chamber Coffee and Sunday’s open house, final improvements will be showcased. PMC CEO Jim Frank said that the project was a long time in the making but he was happy that the hospital doors remained open during construction.
“We’re really proud of the fact that we’ve kept a fully-functioning, operational hospital throughout this process,” Frank said. “We basically touched every area of the hospital.”
Frank will also discuss PMC’s plan to add a few new services like plastic surgery and hand surgery. PMC is also focusing on preventative care. With the hospital’s CT scanner, Frank encourages the public to be proactive about their health.
“I would just stress the importance of that, for people to get early screening for heart disease and we can also do the lung cancer screening as well,” Frank said.
Chamber Coffee begins at 10 a.m. and WAED Ambassadors will also name a quarterly Congeniality Award winner. Providence Medical Center is located at 1200 Providence Road.
