PMC Foundation To Host Jewel Gala Fundraiser Saturday, Proceeds Will Assist With MRI

WAYNE – During an evening in December, guests attending the inaugural Jewel Gala will be treated to an exceptionally fun night of dining, dancing and celebration of the several generous supporters.

According to a release from Providence Medical Center Foundation, Saturday, December 4 will also be highlighted with the good fortune of having local access to a hospital that truly cares about taking care of their community.

Melissa Nelsen, Foundation and Marketing Director at Providence Medical Center has led the committee group of Amy Bowers, Colleen Starzl, Ginger Nelson, Ginger Nixon, June Erwin, Keri Carlson, McKayla Thege, Melissa Graham, Molly Redden, Rachel Miller and Tina Munter.

Nelsen said about seven months ago the committee was gathered and began contacting businesses for sponsorships and donations leading up to these past few weeks.

“Really just organizing the tables and where people will be sitting and program materials for the event,” said Nelsen. “Now really focusing on the details of pulling the event together.”

From the Beaumont Event and Concert Hall, located at 2611 N Hwy 15, the Jewel Gala will be held on Saturday, December 4 with a cocktail hour starting at 5:30 p.m. with roughly 40 silent auction items will be up for bid. For those who purchased their ticket, suggested attire is to dress with flair for this elegant affair.

Dinner will last from 6:30 – 8 p.m. with a welcome greeting from the PMC Foundation between 7:45 – 8:15 p.m.

The evening is being dedicated to raising money for a good cause and improving the health and wellness of the communities Providence Medical Center serves.

The live auction will then take place from 8:30 – 9:30 p.m. where 11 items will be auctioned off.

Nelsen added the goal is to raise money for the hospital.

“We have a great hospital in our community,” Nelsen added. “One that we want to keep around for years to come. Ultimately you hope that people will come, they’ll have a good time, you’ll raise funds to support the hospital and the people will want to come back.”

Between 9:30 – 9:45 p.m. the winner of the jewel will be announced donated by Randy, aka “The Diamond King” and Rozan Pedersen. Raffle tickets will be available at the event and the winner must be present.

Closing out the evening will be a dance/after party by the Pink Kadillac Band from 10 until 11:30 p.m.
