Planetarium Is Open For Business, September Shows Released

WAYNE – Another series of Planetarium Shows will kick off this weekend on the campus of Wayne State College.

According to a release from WSC, the Fred G. Dale Planetarium will begin its 2020 Fall Season of public shows on Friday, September 4.

This fall season includes a huge selection of shows with special weekends like “Kids Weekend”, “Wayne Chicken Show” and now the show schedule also includes laser shows.

Come enjoy Laser Beatles, Laser Zeppelin, Laser Pink Floyd and more. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, seating is limited to 25 people per show and everyone must wear a mask.

Shows are scheduled for Friday, September 4 (7 & 8 p.m.) – Saturday, September 5 (1 & 2 p.m.); Friday, September 11 (7 & 8 p.m.) – Saturday, September 12 (1, 2, 3 & 4 p.m.); kids weekend of Friday, September 19 (7 p.m.) – Saturday, September 20 (1 p.m.) as well as Friday, September 25 (7 & 8 p.m.) – Saturday, September 26 (1 & 2 p.m.).

October and November shows are also available.

Visit www.wsc.edu/planetarium for the detailed show schedule and how to book a private group showing. The suggested donation for all shows is $5 for adults and $3 for kids; all donations are appreciated.

Doors open 20 minutes prior to the start of a show as Planetarium shows generally include a tour of the current night sky, a view of the constellations and a fulldome video. All shows last about 45 minutes.
