Pheasants Forever Banquet To Hold Annual Fundraiser Friday Evening

WAYNE – Tickets are still available for the 28th annual Logan Creek Pheasants Forever Banquet, but will go up in price if you wait until the day of the event.

The Friday, March 16 event will start with a social from 5:30 – 7 p.m. then a steak dinner (seafood option) will follow. Games will be held in between as the auction will close out the night.

Join members of the Logan Creek Chapter #303 Pheasants Forever at the City Auditorium (third and Pearl St.) to raise money that stays locally.

Jim Modrell is the chapter president and said this is their fundraising for the year.

“One unique thing about Pheasants Forever is all the money we raise that night stays with us,” said Modrell. “We decide how the money will be spent and it doesn’t go to the National Organization for them to decide where the money is going to be spent.”

Throughout the night there will be games, such as plinko, royal flush, the franklin raffle and more. The silent auction will be made up of prints, unique merchandise, area craftsmen-made items just to name a few.

The Banquet gun and three-gun board will also be back.

“It’s been sitting around at different businesses in town,” Modrell mentioned. “Which it basically will buy a square and you’re up for three guns that night. So, there’s 144 squares.”

The winner will be able to choose the guns or the $999 cash option.

The Logan Creek Pheasants Forever group is made up of 15-20 members and anyone can join even if you’re not a hunter.

“But we have many members that are non-hunters,” Modrell added. “Because we can do a project and if the farmer says nobody will ever hunt here, that is perfectly fine with us. Because, we’re not a hunter organization we’re a habitat organization.”

Contact any Pheasants Forever member or Jim Modrell (402-369-0084), Scott Brummond (402-375-0747) and Scott Barg (402-369-1061) to purchase a ticket. They do ask that one person in the family becomes a member along with the cost of the meal being $50 total while a spouse meal price is $15 and same goes for a ringneck (children 16 and under). Meal prices will increase $5 on the day of the banquet.
