WAYNE – Palm Sunday is approaching April 5 and a northeast Nebraska church is looking for assistance in developing a virtual Palm Sunday Parade.

According to a release from Wayne First United Methodist Church, Pastor Nick will be putting together a video to play Sunday morning.

Community members can snap a picture or create a quick video with themselves, their kids, other family members and pets waving a palm or other branch. Submit the photos or videos to pastor@waynefirstumc.org.

The deadline to send in the requested information is by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3.

For those who don’t have a palm, or other branch to wave, there are a lot of tutorials out there on YouTube that can help you make one using items around the house.

First United Methodist Church in Wayne will also have some extra palms available for families. Just stop by and pick one up between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday evening. They will be in a container at the north door of the church. Please limit one palm per person to share as many as possible.

Wayne First United Methodist Church is located at 516 Main Street. For questions, call 402-375-2231 or email Pastor Nick.
