WAYNE – Make plans to visit the Nordstrand Visual Arts Gallery with the Wayne State College Department of Art & Design as they open the Juried Student Art Show on Thursday, April 19.
From the Conn Library on the campus of Wayne State College, an opening reception will introduce the exhibit from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public as the exhibit will remain open throughout the summer.
According to a release from WSC, the exhibition will include original artwork submitted by WSC students. Pieces are judged and selected for display by Cory Knedler, Chair of the Department of Art at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota.
Gallery Director Dr. Andy Haslit, Assistant Professor of Art History, curates the exhibit.
Following the opening reception, the gallery will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday from 3 – 7 p.m. It is closed Saturday and shows will end at noon on closing day.
