One person killed in early-morning weekend crash on Highway 275 near Wisner

WISNER, Neb. – One person is dead after an early-morning crash in northeast Nebraska over the weekend.

According to the Cuming County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch was informed of an accident at approximately 12:05 a.m. on Saturday.
Officials said that the crash happened two miles east of Wisner on Highway 275, with multiple injuries reported.
Investigators said that a westbound car apparently crossed the center line and hit an eastbound pickup. One of the drivers was taken to Norfolk for medical treatment, while a passenger in the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wisner Police and Wisner Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene, with Nebraska State Patrol, Beemer Fire and Rescue, West Point Fire and Rescue, and the Nebraska Department of Transportation providing additional assistance.

The crash remains under investigation.
