One Hospitalized, Two Cars Totaled After 5th Street Collision

COLUMBUS – One person was hospitalized and another was cited after two cars collided at the intersection of 5th Street and 23rd Avenue.

Columbus Police reports say a 36-year-old woman was driving a 2012 Ford sedan southbound on 23rd Avenue, and a 26-year-old was driving a 2014 Toyota Scion eastbound on 5th Street. CPD reports say the 36-year-old failed to yield to the right of way, and the two cars collided in the intersection, coming to rest in the southeast corner of the intersection.

Both vehicles are considered a total loss, and the driver of the Scion was treated at the hospital for unknown injuries, says CPD reports.

The driver of the Ford was cited for the incident, which took place at approximately 11:44 a.m. on Thursday, says CPD reports.
