One COVID-19 Postive Case, One Death Reported In Thurston County

WAYNE – Another death and one more positive COVID-19 positive case has been reported for a resident within the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District.

According to a release from NNPHD, a third death was reported for a Thurston county male in his 50s with underlying health conditions. Thursday’s new patient was also from Thurston county being a youth age 10 and under.

As of Thursday evening, there have been 1,098 COVID-19 tests reported for people living in the NNPHD Health District of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties. The results of these tests are 172 positive cases (Cedar – 8, Dixon – 33, Thurston – 111 and Wayne county – 20), 819 negatives and 51 tests currently pending results. There have also been three COVID-19 related deaths in the Health District.

As far as any cases, when NNPHD releases someone from isolation the health department no longer follows them to see how they are doing as the report from the health department does not include number of hospitalizations or recoveries.
