PONCA – As the second and final weekend of Ponca State Park’s Hallowfest event will feature chilly temperatures, winners were released from October 10.
According to a release from Ponca State Park, the 22nd annual Hallowfest showcased take-n-go crafts, creepy crawly critter corner, owl pellets, a pumpkin carving contest and haunted drive; all in which will take place again this Saturday, October 17.
Winners during the pumpkin carving contest were also posted. Paisley Heydon from Tea, South Dakota (six years and under); Fayth Colton from Waverly, Nebraska (7 to 12 years) and Ellison Ross from Fremont, Nebraska (13 to 18 years category) while Beauty Garcia from South Sioux City, NE won the adult division.
If you missed Hallowfest last week, activities return again this Saturday (Oct. 17) and there are still reservations available for the Haunted Drive. Call Ponca State Park directly to reserve your spot at 402-755-2284 as state park vehicle permits are required.

Earlier this week, Ponca State Park stated their boating ramp will be closed. Due to flood damage, the park closed their main boating ramp for repairs from Wednesday, October 14 until further notice. Guests looking for river access can use Ponca State Park’s North Addition boat ramp. A state park vehicle permit is required to use the North Addition boat ramp.
