The U.S. Postal Service suspended Wednesday deliveries in areas of northern and eastern Nebraska and parts of Iowa due to the forecast for bitter cold temperatures.

There will also be no collection mail pick up from businesses or collection boxes, and no residential or commercial package pick-up services.

Retail offices will be open.

Wednesday’s high temperature is forecast to be in the single digits, with wind chills as low as 20 to 40 below zero.

USPS is also suspending mail deliveries Wednesday in Minnesota, western Wisconsin, Iowa and western Illinois.
