NORFOLK – A series of professional opportunities in June will be offered through the Workforce Development Office at Northeast Community College.

According to a release, this session will ensure that employees have up-to-date training which is essential to any successful business plan.

Becoming a Northeast Nebraska Workforce Partner will put business owners and supervisors in a position to jump ahead of the competition by maximizing their training investment.

In this joint effort provided by the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce and Northeast Community College, the training will provide business leaders and staff opportunities for personal and professional growth close to home.

The next course, Informal Leadership/Lead from Where You Are (CRN #70263), will be held on Thursday, June 9 from 9 a.m. until noon at the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce (609 W. Norfolk Ave.).

Being a leader doesn’t always mean having a title; many people provide leadership informal ways. Leading is much more about influence than it is about title. This session takes a critical look at leadership myths, discusses the differences between management and leadership, explains elements of leadership people possess and provides strategies for leading from whatever position a participant currently holds.

Cost for the course is $120 per person. To register, call 402-844-7000 or 800-348-9033, extension 7000. Online registration is not available for this course.
