Northeast Nebraska Towns To Hold Monthly Recycling Event

WAYNE – Once a month, Wayne and Wakefield boy scouts ask for community members to place their paper and aluminum cans by the curb during a recycling drive.

Acceptable items during the Saturday, November 17 event include newspapers, magazines, coupons, office papers, phone books and paperback books.

Hardback books are acceptable, but troop members would like the cover to be removed or kept separated. No plastic, cardboard, trash or items with a spiral binding (such as plastic or metal) can be mixed in with the paper.

Paper items should be placed in paper grocery bags or boxes and set at the curb by 8:00 a.m. along with aluminum cans for pick up. Recyclables for the Wayne scouts may also be dropped off at the scout trailer at the Transfer Station in Wayne.

The Wayne Transfer Station is open Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. or Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

For questions about recycling, contact 402-375-2849.
