Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department (NNPHD) Reporting One New COVID-19 Case In Dixon County

WAYNE – There’s one new confirmed COVID-19 case in the NNPHD health district, sent in a release from NNPHD. The newest case is a male in his 20’s residing in Dixon County. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 48 from the health district made up of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston, and Wayne counties.

Dixon county has the most confirmed cases in the district with 23. Thurston county has had 16 positive tests, Cedar county has 6 cases, and Wayne county with just 3.

As of Tuesday evening, May 12, NNPHD has reported 509 COVID-19 tests either completed or pending results. There’s been 317 negative test results, while 144 tests have yet to come back with results.

As far as any cases, when NNPHD releases someone from isolation the health department no longer follows them to see how they are doing as the NNPHD report does not include number of hospitalizations or recoveries.

Three more COVID-19 deaths were reported to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Tuesday. Deaths were confirmed in the Dakota County Health Department, Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Department and Gage County. The total number of COVID-19-related deaths in the state to date is 103, according to the DHHS data dashboard. The state case total, as of 5:45 p.m. Central Daylight Time Tuesday, is 8,692.
